We're excited to bring the joy of shaping to you with our handshaping workshop
Through this two day workshop you’ll be given the opportunity to design and craft your very own handshaped surfboard. The experience of shaping your own board is one that most surfers have dreamed about at some point, but with no idea where to start it can be a little daunting. We’ll be here to guide you through each step of the process and ensure that the end product is not only functional, but a beautiful board that you can cherish for years to come.
We’ll go on a journey, learning about the design theory behind each surfboard and applying that to your own needs and desires. A truly one of a kind surfboard that you can connect with and appreciate. The gift that really keeps on giving.
The course is spread across two days and is broken up into 5 hour sessions.
The first day we will cover design principles, basic shaping techniques and begin to rough out the length, thickness and outline of the shape.
The second day will be focused on finer shaping skills including shaping the rails, blending curves and finishing the shape ready for glassing.
Pricing
All inclusive shortboard workshop (up to 6’11) - $2,200
All inclusive mid length / longboard workshop (7’0 - 9’6) - $2,700
Pricing includes:
- 2 x 5 hr private instructional shaping sessions
- Your very own handshaped board (board will be ready for pick up 3-4 weeks after final session)
- Your choice of either a single sided coloured resin tint, double stringer, timber tailblock or coloured resin panels
- Fins to suit your board
- All materials and tools required
- Safety equipment (dust mask, hearing protection)
